Program Overview
A more strategic way to participate in energy demand response
The Peak Performance Program is designed to support Ontario’s electricity grid by paying eligible facilities to reduce electricity demand during peak periods, primarily through HVAC-related curtailment.
Eligible Facilities
The program is designed for non-residential facilities across Ontario, including commercial, institutional, and municipal buildings looking to improve energy efficiency, reduce peak demand, and participate in demand response opportunities.
HVAC Load Focus 75%
Eligible systems include HVAC-related equipment such as rooftop units, chillers, cooling towers, VAV systems, heat pumps, and smart thermostats. Up to 25% of the demand response contribution may come from non-HVAC measures.
Metering & Verification
Participation requires you to provide access to your facility's hydro account and interval metering, as well as submit HVAC equipment specifications. We help you establish event control and monitoring procedures, and confirm compliance with event notifications.
